Topic: 1981 31' clunk when increasing and decreasing gas

Looking at a 1981 31' revcon with 56000 mi, on test drive clunking noise when increasing and decreasing gas, is this normal any idea what might be.

Brad,

I would suspect one of the universal joints which is a fairly inexpensive fix, however it could be some slop in the transfer case chain or gears.  I would have a mechanic look it over if possible.

Thanks Jay, that is along the line I was thinking, test drove last night motor ran good, trans shifted good, in over all fair condition for the year and price leaves some room for repairs. Never owned a revcon but like the look. Will make offer tonite.
